What is a Replay?
A Path of Titans replay is a captured instance centred around your character. Once activated, the game will record your and players around you movements, actions and statuses. The Replay cannot capture players across the map, so make sure you are close enough to the players you wish to capture. Replays can be used in combination with other software to stage screenshots or record videos, as it allows you full camera control as well as the ability to change the time of day or weather.
How do I record a Replay?
You can initiate a Replay recording by typing /demorec into the chat and sending. It can then be stopped by typing /demostop.
- PC players have the option of pressing U on your keyboard to toggle on/off your recording.
- Console players can map a replay toggle to a button of their choice in Settings > Controls.
How do I view my Replays?
Replays can be accessed in the Main Menu by clicking the Replays menu option. Here you can select a replay you recorded in the past and press Play to view it.
Can I view my replay in a media player or upload it as a video?
No, a replay is not a video, but you can use other software to record video footage from within the replay and view/upload it as a video. A replay file can only be viewed inside Path of Titans.
Are Replays stored on my account?
No, replays are stored locally on your device and not online on our servers. Replays will occupy space on your device, so make sure to remove replays you do not wish to keep. On Windows PC you are also be able to locate replays stored on your device via \Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\PathOfTitans\Saved\Demos
Why can't I view my Replay?
Like any other game which utilises replay-like mechanics, replays can become incompatible, such as if the replay contains files no longer present on your device or if the replay was recorded in an older version of the game. Replays risk becoming incompatible with every major game update but may also be occasionally affected by a smaller game update.
Replays also have a cooldown if they are recorded on a multiplayer server which means you can't view replays the moment you leave the server. This is to prevent players from abusing the replay system and the additional controls and viewpoints it provides.
Can I view a Replay from an outdated game version?
Yes, this is possible on PC, but not by default. It is possible to archive a copy of the game files of a specific build of the game, so you can always reproduce an older replay file on PC.
Here is how you do this on Windows:
- Open the Alderon Games Launcher
- Click on the cogwheel next to the PLAY button
- Select 'Show in Folder'.
- Copy and save a copy of the entire 'Path of Titans' installation folder at a desired location with a label such as "Path of Titans March 29th, 2025" so it's easy to identify it.
- Launch the game by double-clicking PathOfTitans-Win64-Shipping.exe, located at Path of Titans\WindowsNoEditor\PathOfTitans\Binaries\Win64on your PC.
Please note that older versions of the game might not be able to access any multiplayer servers.
You can copy and archive replay files, which are stored at \Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\PathOfTitans\Saved\Demos on your Windows PC.
Each file has a .replay format and a description of species, location and date. For example: Rhamphorhynchus - Kelp Forest - Island - 2024.03.17-19.14.17.replay
You can copy and paste archived replay files in the Demos folder to access them in-game. You will still need to launch Path of Titans from a compatible build of the game to reproduce a specific replay.
Can I view another player's Replay?
Yes, but they must first send you the replay file. On Windows computers it can be located at \Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\PathOfTitans\Saved\Demos on their PC. You will need to paste the file into the same folder on your Windows PC in order to view it in your game.
